Plan for Success- AQA GCSE Drama

Course Description

Delivered through two 90-minute live webinars, this course is designed for teachers who are new to teaching this specification or have been teaching the course for two years or less. Teachers are also welcome to join if they are keen to learn new strategies for planning and delivering the course within their context, so that their students fully engage with the course and achieve outstanding results. This is a small-group, interactive session, delivered on Zoom, in which participants will have time to discuss curriculum models and learn a range of teaching strategies for raising standards in both the practical and written aspects of the course. The course will be very much tailored to the participants and their needs/ experience. By the end of the course, participants will: - Know the demands of each unit. - Understand the course and know how to plan, to achieve high grades. - Have learnt a range of tried and tested teaching strategies for raising standards. In addition, teachers will have the opportunity to collaborate and connect with other teachers through discussion & sharing. Course Structure Session 1: Monday June 24th, 4-5.30pm Devising Practical/ Overview of curriculum/ Curriculum planning/Component 3 and general Paperwork for Exams. Session 2: Monday 1sth July, 4-5.30pm Written element for Devising Log/ Component 1 written element. This webinar will be led by Jemma Stillwell. Jemma has been teaching for 15 years and has been a Head of Drama for 10 of them. She has gained high outcomes for students in a variety of different school contexts, internationally and in the UK. Jemma has successfully taught the AQA specification gaining impressive grades with her students at GCSE level. Book early to avoid disappointment!
