Ed is an artist-designer. He works with light to tell stories in collaboration with theatre-makers and artists. His practice sits somewhere between stage design, installation, and spatial design. Ed's work investigates what it takes for compelling storytelling to flourish at these interfaces, where light is often the primary cue for the suspension of disbelief.
Ed graduated with a degree in French and Linguistics from the University of Oxford in 2018. He received a Commendation for Design from the National Student Drama Festival the previous year, and was represented at the Society of British Theatre Designers' Staging Places exhibition at the 2019 Prague Quadrennial.
Much of Ed's recent work is for site-specific and cross-arts projects. He is Technical Director of Ante Terminum, a collaborative live-arts company that partners with artists from different disciplines to create performances in unique spaces.
